Is there anything good about religions? Atheists what do you think?

I can't say I think religion is all bad. I think its been a unifying concept in some cultures that made them more cohesive and cooperative. On the flip side when they didn't agree it incited more strife and justification for ingroup/outgroup behavior. I think today also though we can see secular societies are able to also provide stability and human rights while allowing diversity of thought. It takes a bit of tolerance and work. I think on a personal level it provides many members psychological comfort and community and a sort of life framework in terms of life passages, rituals, and celebrations. I see that the Secular Humanist organization is also aware that having such structure and ritual is psychological beneficial to many regardless of any supernatural beliefs. Its a way to process emotion, take introspective stock, build community, amongst other things and so they provide non religious options for those who find it beneficial as well. I tend to like many of the ideas of Buddhism or Taoism in a philosophical sense minus the metaphysical or supernatural claims.
