I think today also though we can see secular societies are able to also provide stability and human rights while allowing diversity of thought. It takes a bit of tolerance and work. I think on a personal level it provides many members psychological comfort and community and a sort of life framework in terms of life passages, rituals, and celebrations. I see that the Secular Humanist organization is also aware that having such structure and ritual is psychological beneficial to many regardless of any supernatural beliefs. Its a way to process emotion, take introspective stock, build community, amongst other things and so they provide non religious options for those who find it beneficial as well. I tend to like many of the ideas of Buddhism or Taoism in a philosophical sense minus the metaphysical or supernatural claims.

I think although some religions might say that they accept everybody, they sometimes don't. And that means people from other religions, because they are believing very different things, they say that each other is wrong. I guess if you wanted to be part of a religion you should probably choose but you can believe in whatever you think is right. Or you could be something else. Maybe you could mould them together (no offence meant to any religions by any of this- just advice) and have your own belief. Because when you think about it, religions are just what people think is right and what happens to you after you die. It's really all about death ie. if you sin you go to Hell when you die; do not pass Go do not collect $200. If you do what God says, you get a free pass to Heaven and you win (haha :P). So you could believe that God is a flying pig that shoots rainbows from its eyes and has a magical lion tail because if that's what you believe, it's no more weird than believing that there is a man that wears a dress, controlling the world from up on a cloud and he sends his son down to Earth and says his mother is a virgin. I think you should believe whatever you want. And some people might call me an Athiest but I'm not exactly. I don't believe in any religions because there's no proof of God existing in any certain way but I do believe there could be some kind of God out there. I just don't like to guess because I think it's as silly as telling people what to believe in and if you don't believe, or you're homosexual/bisexual then you'll just go to Hell or won't be well-off after you've died. I play the one handed backhand. Lot of people compliment me for it saying I have a lovely one handed backhand. I used to play cricket and used to bat lefty (same grip as the 2 handed backhand), but when I started playing Tennis about 3 years ago I struggled big time due to major weight difference between a cricket bat and a tennis racket so I started working on a one handed backhand. Don't worry about the PSAT, I got what you got and ended up getting a 2100 on the real SAT, and I got accepted to Penn's Wharton school. Yes, you're on the right track by taking 10 APs, but you need to focus on putting forth all the effort you can in those classes. be definition it means to be awakened to the ultimate truth. well what is the ultimate truth? buddha taught that certain emotions are what cause suffering and we should eliminate those emotions and replace them with love. well to me thats just common sense. i understand what jealousy and hate and anger does to people just from my own experiences and observation of other people. i feel like i have a good understanding of the emotions and how to cope with them and what causes them but i've never studied buddhism. so does that make me enlightened? even tho i still get angry some times myself. but when that happens does it make me unenlightened? or is being enlightened more of a spiritual thing? to me the ultimate truth is that we are all controlled by our emotions and we must learn how to deal with them in order to peacefully coexist in this world. am i right or wrong?

Mauer seems to be headed for a very disappointing season and Avila is unproven for the most part. Brandon League won't be a closer all season. For power in return, I'd go for a player like Ryan Braun. In addition, you could get a top tier closer or maybe even a top level SP. Maybe try and pair Pujols and League together in a deal.

I was raised catholic Christian and over the past 3 months or so I've became really interested in religion and the universe. Everything didn't make sense so I looked into different religions. I found Islam and said this is what I want to be, I said I to myself I was a muslim, but then I started watching all sorts of videos on youtube about atheism and stuff and buddhism and it made more sense than all of this 'man in the sky, fairytale stuff' <<< sorry if that offended you people take note that, that was my opinion. To this day now I'm agnostic leaning towards atheism, but I believe in the reincarnation and karma side of Buddhism. Went to my friend's church yesterday I now regret it?

It was all going good, I joined in the singing, and bible reading and everything but after all that ended pretty much everyone turned hostile. I'm Buddhist. They wanted to convert me by saying Christianity is the only one true religion and all the other religions are man made, and that I'm wasting my time. They tried forcing me to get baptised and said I'll start speaking in tongues so that's my proof God exists. Well, I don't think they realise what Buddhism is really about. In most cases yes it would be healthier to make from scratch as there will be no preservatives or added sugars. you also have control over ingredients and amount allowing you to make it as healthy or unhealthy as you want. As a rule no, as long as you have something there to hold it up. Beandeau bikinis are a tighter fit than there triangle type counterparts. The big problem with them is in certain situations like ocean surf or slides in water parks they can get pulled off. I know that because I had it happen to me at the beach once. Hi. I'm going through a difficult time spiritually. All my life I was taught Jesus was real (which I still do today.) I was confirmed as a Catholic in 8th grade. I'm now a sophomore in college & I feel that Catholicism and Christianity no longer fulfill me. My boyfriend is a Christian and I agree with some of the things he talks about from the Bible but I disagree with some of the things from the Bible. I feel that, at the moment (perhaps for a long time), Buddhism would help me with becoming a more peaceful being. I don't want to be at war with myself about what is right/wrong. I feel that if I continue with Christianity/Catholicism & not even completely agree with those teachings I will never achieve peace. On the other hand, I want to support my boyfriend & his path of spirituality. I want to be able to talk to him about Jesus. I don't think I could ever remove Jesus from my life. I guess my question is: can I be Buddhist and still believe in Jesus? Also, how does a couple raise kids when the parents are of different religions/philosophy. Not that I have kids with my boyfriend..but we're seriously dating & working on us to hopefully get married & this would just be a difficult situation when the time comes.

Unless the other guy is a complete idiot, there is no way he will take it. Bruce has been spectacular this season and is riding an incredibly hot streak right now. What has Tabata done? He did some stuff for maybe the first two weeks of the year, but has been less than stellar ever since. As for Avila, his track record does not show the level of power he has shown this season. He may remain a decent option at catcher simply due to how shallow the catcher position is, but he will slow down from his current pace. Even if he just lost Posey, you'll need to offer a lot more than that if you want Bruce.

any of these guys shouldnt be higher than your #3 OF(depending on depth of league) but the problem i see with this trade is you have to drop another guy anyway to clear a roster spot, so its more than rasmus for them two. because of that i dont think it is fair for you. 2 for 1 trades almost always benefit the guy giving up 2 because hes just going to pick up a FA hes been monitoring and getting rid of at least 1 guy he doesnt want.

Refuge is the door to Buddhism. Bodhicitta is the door to the Mahayana. Initiation is the door to Tantra. As for "beliefs of Tantra" - there really isn't anything that radically different from any other form of Buddhism. Also know that in Buddhism one recognizes ones own suffering and seeks refuge from this suffering (seeks refuge) but recognizes all sentient beings suffer, so generates the wish to be of benefit to others (generates bodhicitta), but, recognizing that only a Buddha can truly benefit others, one resolves to become a Buddha oneself. He or she might search for a path that leads to Buddhahood and only the Mahayana path leads to Buddhahood. There are two divisions of the Mahayana - the perfection vehicle and the tantra vehicle. The end result is the same: Buddhahood. But tantra is much, much faster because the esoteric methods are much more profound. So one would seek initiation into any of the four classes of tantra...But, beware, there is a system of study and practice that must be understood by the practitioner, and adhered to, lest he or she lose his or her way. He or she would at least have established some familiarity with renunciation, bodhicitta, and the correct view of dependent origination. This is why it is critically important to have an honest-to-goodness teacher of tantra, a suitable guide who can keep you on track. And these are as difficult to find as stars in the daytime.

Me and my girlfriend have been together for a year now, and things are generally good, I love her to death and am always looking out for her. For the longest time, since we started going out over last summer we used to play Xbox live together, and this one dude who she said was really creepy one day and then her friend another day. What is the fear of harming others even though you wouldn't ever?

This is going to be hard to explain. Ever since I was little, I've had this fear that I'm going to do some sort of horrible thing to harm something/someone, even though I would never do that thing. It's bad enough that I really don't trust myself sometimes. For example, [this is the only one that comes to mind right now] when I first got my cat when she was just a kitten back when I was maybe 11 or 12, I couldn't look at her without being afraid that I was going to [and i know this sounds insane XD bear with me] put her entire apple-sized head into my mouth and crush it. I was so terrified I'd do that even though i love her and I love animals and i would NEVER, /EVER/ do anything to harm one. Me, personally wouldn't pay a dime. I think those are cool and would display those but I don't believe in placing value on someones signature. What to do if you have a compressed spine?

For many years, I have sat in front of the computer with my back slunched over. And now, I have gotten in the habit of popping my spine whenever I walk xD. My spine does not hurt, but whenever I walk, it feels akward and wobly (it's a weird feeling) and I think the plates in my back might have grown in akward positions because I have very long adult sized legs at 17, and a very short upper body that looks out of place. I am 17 and I am 5"6 1/2, but the doctors said when I was 12 that I was destined for 5"9 to 5"10 and possibly even 6 foot. I know that is not possible now because I think my body has fully matured. I think my husband hates me and our kids?

I am so sad. My husband goes out of town all the time, never comes home after work and if he does we just fight because he smokes a bowl and falls asleep. He is terrible to our children, swearing at them most of the time because they touched his stuff, or ruined or broke something. Why do i love dbz, but hate anime?

I'm 21 and loved dragonball/z since i was 7. As a kid i loved it for the action, as a teen i though i was too "cool" to like it, but got back into it later and found i out liked it for more adult reasons and understood some of the realistic messages it had, not to mention some of the asian cultural philosphies hidden, (esp buddhism) which i appreciate more as an adult and an ex -martial artist. ... Buuut, i fkin hate anime. I appreciat the neat art and sometimes the interesting plots, but alot of it is just....ugh, i dunno. Like it's cheesy and has cheesy humour, i know dbz is guilty of it sometimes too, but now where near as bad as others. They all have stupid looking characters with stupid names (not trying to say anything about the japanese language) and stupid voice overs that sound g@y and over-dramtic. I even hated it when dbz got popular for the 1st time...it's like dbz lost its value to some extent, then erverytime i said i like dbz, people said "pppftt, yeah u and a million others u anime nerd"...pissed me off. My teeth move slightly?

i can wiggle my teeth ;o its only slightly, but if i hold it and gently wiggle them, they actually do move backwards and forwards. is this normal? as i child, i never used to care for my teeth. i have a VERY good reason but im not saying it on here. anyway, i take care of my teeth now, since the past year, because im now able to. i dont always floss, but i do every two or three days. i brush twice a day and use mouthwash once a day. why are my teeth moving xd? im terrified!

be definition it means to be awakened to the ultimate truth. well what is the ultimate truth? buddha taught that certain emotions are what cause suffering and we should eliminate those emotions and replace them with love. well to me thats just common sense. i understand what jealousy and hate and anger does to people just from my own experiences and observation of other people. i feel like i have a good understanding of the emotions and how to cope with them and what causes them but i've never studied buddhism. so does that make me enlightened? even tho i still get angry some times myself. but when that happens does it make me unenlightened? or is being enlightened more of a spiritual thing? to me the ultimate truth is that we are all controlled by our emotions and we must learn how to deal with them in order to peacefully coexist in this world. am i right or wrong?
