Buddhists: Would you please stand up?

my mother is buddhist yet she tells people all the time "god bless you". she tries to tell me alot of other things too but i can't understand because she can only speak khmer(language of cambodia) and i only understand some of the stuff she says. and i wouldn't say she is an athiest because she speaks to god when she is praying. whoever that god is i dont know. but i do know for sure she is praying to a god. so to me i do not believe buddhist are athiest. and from what i read about buddha (sidhartha) i came to the conclusion that he may have just been a man who was blessed with great insight. maybe he didnt speak of a heaven or hell because he knew nothing of it. he only knew what he saw. and what he saw was suffering and sought out how to end it. thus his beliefs on total detachment. and then along comes jesus who speaks of god and heaven and hell 500 years later. maybe god spoke through buddha but sent jesus to earth as his way of spreading the truth. who knows. i believe in god. i'm just not sure about religions. everybody "claims" to be knowing the truth. hahaha.
